Preparation

For best results, always ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from loose paint, rust, wax, oil or grease. If the surface has been previously painted, lightly abrade it to create a key for better adhesion.

• Bare wood can be primed with Rust-Oleum® Surface Primer
• Bare metal should be primed with Rust-Oleum 2169/2182 Anti-Corrosive primer
• Bare plastic should be primed with Rust-Oleum® Plastic Primer

Protect surrounding areas to avoid spray mist settling where it’s not wanted. We also recommend completing a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area before full application to ensure compatibility and finish

How to apply

• Shake the can vigorously for at least 1 minute once the mixing ball starts to rattle. Continue to shake regularly throughout use to keep the paint well mixed.
• Choose your spray pattern by turning the dial on the nozzle to one of the five available options – ideal for different project sizes and surfaces.
• Hold the can around 30cm from the surface and spray using a smooth, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each pass for even coverage.
• For the best finish, apply light coats every 15–20 minutes until you achieve the desired look and coverage.
