Choose coatings for touching up galvanised steel, refreshing its appearance or preparing a zinc-coated surface for paint. Galvanised metal needs different preparation from bare mild steel: new, weathered and damaged galvanising can each require a different approach. Zinc-rich repair sprays and decorative silver topcoats also serve different purposes.

For protective repairs, compare our zinc and aluminium sprays. For a coloured finish, check the primer and topcoat instructions for compatibility with galvanised steel. Remove contamination and prepare the surface as specified; a metallic-looking finish alone does not confirm corrosion-protection performance.
