Need to return a spray paint, primer or another product bought from Andrews Aerosols? Contact our team at info@andrewscoatings.co.uk or call 01902 710057. Have your order number and the product details to hand so we can help.
This policy explains returns for purchases from Andrews Coatings Ltd, trading as Andrews Aerosols. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Changing your mind: standard online consumer orders
If you are buying as a consumer, you can normally cancel an online order for standard, non-bespoke goods without giving a reason. Tell us within 14 days after the day you, or someone nominated by you, receives the goods. Where one order is delivered in separate parts, the cancellation period normally runs from receipt of the last item.
You then have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Email, telephone or write to us with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. A returns reference helps us process your parcel, but obtaining one is not a condition of exercising a statutory cancellation right. You do not have to use a particular form.
Discounted and sale items have the same statutory consumer rights as full-price items.
Returning aerosols and paint safely
Aerosols and some paints are subject to carrier restrictions. Please contact us before dispatching a return so we can discuss the product and suitable arrangements. Check that the carrier accepts the specific goods and follow its packaging and dangerous-goods requirements. Do not send aerosols through an unsuitable postal service.
For a change-of-mind return, you are responsible for the direct return cost unless we have agreed otherwise.
Estimated return carriage: allow up to approximately £8.10 in total for a standard UK mainland parcel. This is an estimate of return carriage, not a cancellation or restocking fee. It also applies where your original order qualified for free delivery. We confirm the suitable carrier and actual carriage charge before arranging a return collection; if you arrange an appropriate carrier yourself, its charges apply.
Larger consignments, multiple parcels, pallets and remote or surcharged postcodes may cost more. Contact us before ordering for a return-carriage estimate for these deliveries, or before booking a return so we can confirm the appropriate arrangements. Do not assume a standard parcel service accepts aerosols.
Pack the goods securely to prevent leakage or damage in transit. Please use the original packaging where possible and include your order details. Keep evidence of dispatch. Original packaging is helpful, but is not an absolute condition of a statutory return.

Condition of returned goods
You may inspect goods as you would reasonably be allowed to in a shop. For change-of-mind returns, we may make a deduction for a reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods' nature, characteristics and functioning, where the law permits.
Spraying paint, using the product or damaging it can reduce its value. This does not remove your rights if goods are faulty or not as described. We do not apply a blanket consumer cancellation or restocking fee.
Refunds for cancelled consumer orders
We refund the price paid for the returned goods. If you cancel the whole order, this normally includes the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option available when you ordered. If you chose a more expensive service, the additional delivery cost is not refundable under the statutory cancellation right. For a partial return, the delivery refund depends on the circumstances and applicable law.
We process the refund without undue delay and within 14 days after receiving the returned goods or evidence that you sent them back, whichever is earlier. Where we have offered to collect the goods, the applicable statutory refund timetable applies. Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund-processing fee.
Custom-filled, colour-matched and personalised products
The usual change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. This can include aerosols mixed to your requested colour or products made with your own branding, where they meet that legal exemption. We identify bespoke products and their specifications as part of the order.
Contact us promptly if you need to change a bespoke order. We will check its production status and explain what can be done; a change or cancellation cannot be guaranteed. Simply being a special-order item does not, on its own, remove consumer cancellation rights.
Bespoke goods must still be of satisfactory quality, fit for their agreed purpose and as described. The exemption does not remove your rights if we supply a faulty product, the wrong agreed colour or another incorrect specification.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
If something arrives damaged, appears faulty or does not match your order, contact us as soon as possible with the order number and a description of the issue. Photographs can help us assess damage or an incorrect item, but we will consider other evidence where appropriate. Do not continue using a product that appears unsafe.
Consumers normally have a short-term right to reject faulty or misdescribed goods within 30 days, subject to the statutory rules. After that, repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund may apply depending on the circumstances. Contact us even if more time has passed; the 30-day period is not the limit of all your rights.
We will arrange appropriate return or collection instructions and cover reasonable return costs where the goods are faulty, damaged on delivery or incorrectly supplied. Do not book an unsuitable carrier. Where a statutory refund is due, it will be made within the applicable legal timetable.
Business and trade purchases
The statutory consumer change-of-mind cancellation right does not generally apply to purchases made in the course of a business. Contact us to discuss any proposed trade return. Voluntary returns are subject to written agreement and any applicable terms agreed for the order. This does not exclude rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
