Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Advanced 2778 RAL 9005 Jet Black Matt is a fast-drying 2-in-1 primer and topcoat aerosol developed for professional maintenance and touch-up work. It combines strong corrosion protection, flexibility and colour retention in a convenient 500ml format, reducing the number of separate coatings needed on suitable prepared surfaces.

Suitable uses

The matt finish works particularly well on machinery, equipment housings, framework and prepared metal surfaces where reflections and high gloss are unwanted.

Hard Hat Advanced can be applied to correctly prepared painted substrates, bare steel, brushed light rust, galvanised steel, aluminium and other compatible surfaces. Remove dirt, grease, oil, loose rust and contamination before application. Intact existing coatings should be sanded to provide a sound key.

• Dry to handle: approximately 45 minutes
• Recoat: within 1 hour or after 48 hours
• Fully cured: approximately 7 days
• Heat resistance: up to 100°C dry heat; discolouration may occur above 65°C
• Application distance: approximately 25cm from the surface

For the best finish, apply several thin coats a few minutes apart. Bright topcoats may require a light-coloured primer or intermediate coat. Always read the technical and safety information before use.
